Visit for 75th. Birthday on a busy Saturday night, initial impression was that the dcor was rather austere, however there was a buzz of happy diners and a guitarist singing Italian melodies, which enhanced the ambiance, later was serenaded along with another birthday customer with "Happy Birthday" in Italian.Would recommend you visit the restaurant web site to peruse the menu, it's extremely extensive and to detailed to describe here.My table was decorated to celebrate the occasion, a nice touch.Drinks rather pricey 5 a pint of Perone2.45 a 330 ml bottle of coke. 20 bottle of ProseccoThe food was quickly served by cheerful and friendly staff, the portions are " extremely generous ", most importantly very tastyBill for four 117 including drinks, not to bad at approximately 29+ per headThis is a no frills, totally relaxed Italian restaurant, would I return, certainly, but would forgo having any lunch.Buon appetito

First visit and was abit dubious after hearing mixed reviews before arriving and nearly cancelled, but decided to make my own mind up....A brief summary is that I felt our hosts were almost cold and just made us feel they wanted us IN and OUT which isn't why you go out and spend good money.....certainly didn't find the place welcoming and considering the tough competition now in Hessle I got the feeling that maybe they were soon about to shutdown the business and didn't care anymore.. if not they really need to have a re-think about customer care....Noisy kitchen .....We were warned about the music suddenly been turned up to get rid of you and sure enough up went the volume, with the owners looking like they just wanted you to leave immediately... Not even a mention of a desert menu or coffee!!!!! Will not be returning!

A beautiful, small restaurant up the Weir in Hessle. Friendly service and gorgeous food in an intimate setting. The Italian to visit in the local area

Excellent food, good service and good atmosphere. What else do you want? Never disappointed.

What a lovely place for a meal! It's very "intimate". Maybe a dozen tables in all. The service was quick. The portions were a good size and very tasty. Nothing was too much trouble and who I take to be the owner, was great fun and even serenaded us at the table with his guitar (a bit of fun rather than a serious display if talent). A thoroughly enjoyable evening. I'll definitely visit again. Highly recommended
