For some reason the key to the public car park is held by the country park hotel and though it is supposed to be open by 6.30 am it is hit and miss. This Sunday it was still locked at 9.00 am
Access to this huge car park can be by foot, bike, or car, and is accessible from either side of the bridge, but both sides are separated from each other, by a barrier and access to BOTH sides is by bike or by walking. There is no charge to park there, so it is a popular place to start if you want to try the Park walks and trails. For this reason it is very popular for dog walkers and family's with children. In the car park, there is a Tourist Information Centre, some good toilets and a mobile snack van (NO cafe!). Access for wheelchair users to the park and facilities, are good. The paths and trails in the Park are well kept and accessible to all. There are roads from the North (Hull) that has access to the park without using the bridge. This means no bridge tolls! Not so lucky for the southerners, who have to pay the toll, BOTH ways!
Used this car park 13th December so we could do a circular walk across the Humber bridge.Very good large car park with trails, walks signposted from the carpark. There are very good toilet facilities,a tourist information centre, and at times I think there is a "tea wagon" serving teas, snacks, burgers etc. There are also other events sometimes held here, check websites for details. All this and it's free parking!
